The Work
Renèe works with clients at every stage of a garden's life, from the first conversation about what a space could become to the ongoing care that keeps it there. Every engagement begins the same way: with a real conversation about your garden, your goals, and what it actually needs.
✿ Consulting & Garden Planning
Every garden has a problem worth solving, whether you know what it is yet or not. Renèe works with clients remotely and in person to assess what a space needs, identify what isn't working, and build a clear path forward. This is where most engagements begin, and for many clients, it's the most valuable work she does. Good advice at the right moment saves years of guesswork.
✿ Pruning
Pruning is Renèe's signature skill, and it is rarer than it sounds. Most gardens are either over-pruned or neglected; few are pruned by someone who understands the architecture of a plant, its seasonal rhythms, and the difference between a cut that serves the plant and one that merely tidies it. Renèe works with ornamentals, fruit trees, roses, boxwoods, hydrangeas, evergreens, vines, shrubs, and canes, in all seasons and for all purposes, from winter hard pruning to summer shaping.
✿ Staging
A well-staged garden changes how a property feels before a visitor can articulate why. Renèe works with homeowners, real estate agents, and event hosts to bring gardens and outdoor spaces into their best seasonal expression, for open houses, gatherings, holidays, and occasions where first impressions matter.
✿ Conceptual Garden Design
Renèe approaches design as a conversation about what a space wants to become. She works with clients to develop a clear vision, plant palette, and implementation plan for a garden, grounded in twenty years of knowing what actually thrives and creates botanical harmony.
✿ Specialty Maintenance
Not all gardens need the same hands. Renèe focuses her maintenance work on the plantings that require genuine expertise: perennials, ornamentals, kitchen and herb gardens, greenhouse plants, and orchard management. If your lawn needs mowing, a landscaper will serve you well. If your garden contains things worth protecting, that is a different conversation.
